My Magical Jellybean SHN Shortener will no longer d-code SHN files---It adds the SHN files no problem and goes to track 1 to de-code but then never moves past track 1--I even uninstalled the program and downloaded a new one but it does the same thing. I'm having no problems with flac files but SHN files just won't de-code.....I've been using this same SHN shortner fo a couple of years with no problem until the last couple of weeks....Please help! Love is Real...Not Fade Away...john h

I'd recommend xACT for Windows - it handles SHN, FLAC and more: http://crush.epix.net/~scb/index.php?path=xactwin/

Hey Now!--Thank you so much for sending me the software--I downloaded it and am decoding SHN files again w/no problem. And at three to four times the speed of my previous de-coder I might add.---Just wanted to say thank you...so glad to see the sharing spirit alive in cyberspace. Thanks again....Love is Real....Not Fade Away...john h

There is always the original MKW ACT on the etree.org website. It still works for me and even generates the MD5 signatures for SHN, FLAC and most any other files you put in a folder.

I don't know where they got that damned ffp text file solution; because it fails most of the time. Can I ask why some people are just lazy to do this right???

FFP (Flac Fingerprints) have nothing to do with SHN files. Even for FLAC, they are not for verification purposes. They should be included with FLAC filesets as a packing list, and as identification of a particular fileset (hence the name fingerprint).
